I'm Japanese. I know more and more people are visiting Japan every year. But I'm pretty sure most tourists don't know these travel tips. ⁡ No.1 Convenience stores are great, but they're expensive. We shop at small supermarkets like My Basket instead. A lot of the food costs almost half the price. No.2 Don't pay to go up Tokyo Skytree. Go to the 31st floor of Tokyo Solamachi instead. It's right next to Skytree, and you can enjoy an amazing view for free. Lastly... Don't waste your money on expensive SIM cards with unreliable connections. Check out Shogun SIM instead. It uses one of Japan's major mobile networks, so you get fast and reliable internet almost anywhere in Japan. There are plenty of plans to choose from, and if you run out of data, you can top up online anytime. It's super convenient for travelers. Check the link in our highlight! #pr

I'm Japanese. I don't usually go to Don Quijote. It's always crowded, and it feels more like a tourist attraction now. But I heard they have some really unique products. Let's see if they're worth buying! The first one I'm curious to try is this... If you have a friend who loves ONE PIECE, you should definitely buy this as a souvenir. The second one is this. It's a capsule that makes you smell like roses… even when you fart. If you have a friend with smelly farts, send them this video. And the third one is this. Just add it to rice, and it tastes like TKG (tamago kake gohan), a classic Japanese rice dish. If I ever had to leave Japan, I'd definitely bring this with me. ⁡ Want to discover more local tips and my favorite local spots in Japan? DM or comment "JAPAN" to get our Ultimate Tokyo Guidebook!

5 Things You Shouldn't Do at a Japanese Shrine ⁡ 1. Don't walk through the torii gate without bowing. The torii marks the entrance to a sacred place. Stop and give a small bow before entering. 2. Don't walk in the center of the path. The center is believed to be for the gods. Walk along the side instead. 3. Don't pray before cleansing your hands and mouth. Use the water pavilion first. It's a way to purify yourself before praying. 4. Don't take photos inside the main shrine building. In most shrines, photography is not allowed inside the most sacred area. 5. Don't spray perfume directly on a kimono or yukata. Perfume can damage the delicate fabric. If you're wearing a rental kimono or yukata, it's usually not allowed. ⁡ Save this for your trip to Japan!

I'm Japanese. I don't go to Shibuya Sky. I go to Shibuya Hikarie. You can see the Shibuya Crossing for free. Less crowded. Same amazing view. I'm Japanese. I don't bring money to the convenience store. Many stores have Buy 1, Get 1 FREE deals. Buy the item, keep your receipt, then come back later for your free one. I'm Japanese. I usually pay cashless, but in real local spots, some places still take only cash. And honestly, those are the best places — truly local, truly Japanese. Just don’t expect the staff to speak English! ⁡ If you want to know more about my favorite restaurants, we made a FREE Tokyo Guidebook in over 100 languages. It includes local tips, my favorite places, and restaurants locals actually go to. If you prefer English, you can also get our complete 480-page Tokyo Guide for FREE. Are you visiting Tokyo? Don't just visit Shinjuku and Shibuya. You're missing out! Just a few minutes by train, and you'll find quieter, cozier neighborhoods loved by locals. Here are my top 3 spots near Shibuya. No.1 Jiyugaoka Just 15 minutes from Shibuya. My favorite place for cafés, bakeries, and amazing desserts. Plus, there's a peaceful temple nearby. No.2 Nakameguro Just 4 minutes from Shibuya. Famous for cherry blossoms, but also one of Tokyo's best neighborhoods for café hopping. Don't miss one of only 7 Starbucks Reserve Roasteries in the world. No.3 Daikanyama Just 3 minutes from Shibuya. Looking for a unique souvenir? Buy a tenugui— a traditional Japanese cloth with beautiful designs. Use code "gift2603" to get 5% OFF at Kamawanu's Global Online Store.

I'm Japanese. I don't spend my days off in Shinjuku or Shibuya. They're just too crowded. Instead, I go to Jiyugaoka. It's one of the trendiest neighborhoods among young Japanese people. My first stop is Aka, a strawberry daifuku specialty shop. It's takeout only, and it usually sells out soon after opening. The strawberries are incredibly juicy, and I could eat them every day. Next, I stopped by Susumuya Chaten, just a 1-minute walk away. It's a tea shop from Kagoshima, Japan's No.1 tea-producing region for the past two years. After exploring a few local shops, I stopped by a bagel shop. Did you know bagels are a huge trend in Japan right now? I love how soft and chewy they are. ⁡ Want to know more my favorite places in Tokyo? We made a Tokyo Guidebook filled with local tips, local favorites, and restaurants that locals actually go to. Just DM me or comment “Japan” to get it!

AREUM BAGEL Jiyugaoka Store 📍1st Floor, Section B, New Takami Building, 2-37-9 Okusawa, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo 🕐11:00 AM to 7:00 PM(until sold out) 🗓️Irregular holidays 🚶A 5-minute walk from Jiyugaoka Station ⁡ ⁡ I'm Japanese People think we always drink matcha and eat Japanese sweets. But lately, I can't stop eating one Western treat. Can you guess what it is? It's bagels. Bagels are a huge trend in Japan right now. This shop is one of the places leading the trend. They now have 20 locations across Japan, and their Jiyugaoka store just opened this March. It's already popular with Japanese people, but not many tourists know about it yet. Their bagels are baked fresh every day, so they're soft, chewy, and fluffy. They have 11 flavors, but my favorite is the Salted Chocolate Bagel. Rich chocolate with a hint of salt... so good! You can even try free samples in the store! You'll find it in Jiyugaoka, just 15 minutes from Shibuya by train. Which flavor would you try first? Or what's your favorite? Let me know in the comments! #pr

Stop going only to convenience stores and Don Quijote! I usually go there after work or when I don't have other options. But honestly, I prefer MUJI. Their products are so well made— even the food! My latest favorite is their Coffee Milk Pudding. It's delicious on its own, or pour some coffee over it. They also have a coffee jelly version! Next is my No.1 summer pick. MUJI's Powdered Drink. Just add water, and you have a refreshing drink anywhere. My favorite flavor is Salt & Acerola. Perfect for hot Japanese summers. I also love their Fruit Jelly Candies. They come in Lemon, Kiyomi Orange, and Hassaku Orange. They're light, refreshing, and perfect for summer. And finally… The one thing I buy every time I visit MUJI. Matcha Baumkuchen. The original is delicious, but if you love matcha, you have to try this one!

Look! I walked 20,000 steps in this heat... just to find this bottle of water. Was it worth it? It looks like normal water, but shake it... and it turns into jelly! I grew up in Japan, but Japanese inventions still surprise me. You can buy it from Plus Acure vending machines, mainly inside JR stations, but they're pretty hard to find. So here's an easier local tip. Try MUJI's Konjac Drink! It comes in three flavors, and it's one of my favorite drinks at MUJI. Perfect for summer! Want more local Japan tips? DM or comment "Japan" to get your Ultimate Guidebook!

I’m Japanese. I don’t buy pocket tissues in Japan Because you can get them for free. In busy areas like Shinjuku, there are always people handing out free tissues on the street. Just take one I’m Japanese. Recently, I don’t go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building observation deck anymore. It’s gotten too crowded, and the waiting time is really long now. Instead, I go to the Shinjuku Nomura Building It’s also in Shinjuku, and almost the same height. Plus, there are lots of restaurants on the same floor, so you can enjoy dinner with the view too If you want to know more Japan travel hacks, we created the ultimate Tokyo travel guidebook It includes: ・Our recommended local spots ・Food recommendations ・Useful Japan travel tips ・Exclusive coupons And only for people who watched this video the first 1,000 people can get it for $24.5 instead of $49! I'm Japanese I don't buy train tickets. I use the Suica app instead Just tap your phone at the gate. It's faster, and even a little cheaper For example, Shinjuku → Shibuya costs ¥200 with a paper ticket, but only ¥199 with Suica I'm Japanese I don't eat late lunch. I eat early lunch Many restaurants offer breakfast sets. At Shinpachi Shokudo, you can get a Japanese breakfast for around $3 before 11 AM I'm Japanese I don't use coin lockers. They're often full I use Bounce instead It shows nearby luggage storage spots. Use code "TABIBIYORI10" to get 10% OFF If you want more local tips and local spots loved by Japanese people, our Premium Tokyo Guide launches tomorrow Check out the FREE version first DM or Comment "TOKYO" to get it

People think Japan is safe... Yes—but not from nature. At the Honjo Disaster Prevention Center, you can experience a magnitude 7 earthquake, heavy rain, and powerful winds. Think you could escape a flood? Just 20 cm (8 inches) of water can make a door feel 25 kg (55 lbs) heavier. And if there's a fire, stay low and crawl under the smoke. Want to test your survival skills? Visit the Honjo Disaster Prevention Center near Tokyo Skytree. ※Age restrictions apply※ Want to discover more unique experiences in Japan? I'm Japanese, I'm 26 years old... and this might be the smartest... or dumbest thing I've ever bought. My mom is always like, "Why do you keep buying kids' stuff?" Because... I have adult money now. See this little guy? He has one job. Can you guess what it is? His only job... is to hold down the lid of my instant noodles. And look at his hands! They change color when they get hot. So... what do you think? Genius or totally unnecessary? If this video gets 1,000 likes, I'll open a Shopify store and start selling them!
