Do you know the best local street in Tokyo? It’s here — Yanaka Ginza. A heaven for local street food. Kind local people. Unique handmade stores. A warm, nostalgic atmosphere you can truly feel. If you want my favorite food spots in Japan, I’ve listed them all on Google My Maps. Just DM me “FOOD”

I’m Japanese. I don’t buy snacks at convenience stores — they’re expensive. I go to drugstores like Matsumoto Kiyoshi instead. They always have sales, coupons, and point rewards. Much cheaper! I’m Japanese. I don’t go up Tokyo Tower or Skytree. The entrance fees are expensive. Instead, I go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building observatory in Shinjuku. It’s free, not too crowded, and the view is beautiful. I’m Japanese. Japan has so many great restaurants, but when I eat out, I usually go to the same local places. Every long-running local restaurant has a reason — the flavor never disappoints. If you want to feel real Japanese culture, you must try a Sento — a traditional public bath! Here are 5 easy steps to enjoy Sento: 1. Take off your shoes, put them in a locker, and keep the key. 2. Buy a ticket at the front desk or a vending machine (depends on the Sento). 3. Receive a bath towel — or bring your own, since some Sento don’t provide them. 4. Head inside and enjoy the bath! 5. After the bath, drink a bottle of cold milk — trust me, it tastes like the best milk in the world. 🥛✨ Sento has been part of Japanese life since ancient times, and it’s still loved today across generations. So if you’re into samurai, ninja, or traditional Japanese culture… you absolutely need to try Sento when you visit Japan! I’m sharing more about Japanese culture, history, useful Japanese phrases, and my favorite local spots on my Patreon page — check the link in my profile!
I’m japanese. I don’t go to convenience stores — I go to My Basket. It’s way cheaper. I’m Japanese. I don’t go to Asakusa. I go to Meiji Jingu. Asakusa’s always packed, but Meiji Jingu is spacious, surrounded by nature, and feels truly sacred. It’s actually the most popular shrine in Japan for New Year visits. I’m Japanese. I usually pay cashless, but in real local spots, some places still take only cash. And honestly, those are the best places — truly local, truly Japanese. Just don’t expect the staff to speak English! If you want to explore my favorite local spots, learn simple Japanese for your trip, or get helpful local tips, I now have a Patreon page where I share everything!
