Nihongo conversation practice with Yana-chan. Yana doesn't like speaking Nihongo with me in our daily conversations. We only practice Japanese during our study time, but the rest of the day, she always talks to me in English. I think she feels awkward speaking Nihongo with me. What's funny is that when she's talking to other moms outside, she speaks Nihongo without any hesitation. Then I realized... I'm exactly the same! 😂 I can speak English, but talking to my husband in English feels awkward, so we naturally speak Tagalog instead. 😅 #nihongo #multilingualkids #japanlife #momlife #homework

It's been a year since Yana and I started studying Nihongo together. 🇯🇵✨ We went from this... Not even knowing what "leaf" was in Japanese. 😅 Yana cried over hiragana... And of course, kanji too. 🥹 To this... Getting hanamaru on her kanji writing and receiving lots of praise from her sensei. 🌸 And now, we're able to have simple conversations in Japanese. We're still far from fluent, but I'm so proud of how much my little Yana has grown. ❤️ We know we still have a long way to go, and that's okay. So come along on our journey as we continue learning until we become fluent in Nihongo. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us. When making a sentence with two adjectives, Yana-chan always uses と (to) because she thinks it means "and." Today, I taught her that "and" in Japanese is different when you're connecting two adjectives. In Japanese, と is used to connect nouns, not adjectives. I used to see Sylvanian Families only at a relative’s house when I was a kid. They had a beautiful display, but it was the kind you could only look at—not play with. 😅 So it was really fun seeing my kids enjoy Sylvanian Park at Harvest Hill, Osaka! They got to play with the toys and even explore life-size Sylvanian houses and furniture. Yani’s favorite was the pretend fishing, while Yana had the most fun playing the display piano and checking out all the adorable life-size furniture. It was such a cute experience for both the kids (and maybe a little bit for me too 😄). Definitely a fun stop if you’re visiting Harvest Hill with children! #japanlife #japantravel #osaka #japantrip #familytrip

We celebrated Father’s Day at Harvest Hill in Osaka by doing all the things my husband loves—a long drive, go-karts, archery, and biking. ❤️ The kids had an amazing time feeding the sheep and capybaras before cooling off at the water play area, which is open during the summer starting in June. Amanohashidate is definitely worth visiting! The breathtaking view alone is amazing, but what made our trip even more memorable was how family-friendly it is. Our kids had so much fun with all the activities, especially the mini train, the bouncing toys, the playground, and the go-karts. Riding the chairlift was also a fun experience—especially for Ate Yana, who finally got to try it for the first time! She was scared at first, but she eventually gave in after a little extra motivation… a few more minutes of iPad time. 😂 There’s also archery for adults, and it’s very beginner-friendly since the staff will teach you the basics before you start. Of course, don’t miss the famous matanozoki (upside-down viewing)! Looking at Amanohashidate upside down between your legs makes the sandbar look like a dragon soaring through the sky. Ihanda n’yo lang ang likod n’yo sa pagyuko. 😂 If you’re looking for a place that combines stunning scenery with fun activities for the whole family, Amanohashidate is a perfect choice. I attended Yana's sankanbi (class observation) this term. 🥰 She confidently raised her hand during sansuu (Math subject) and answered the question correctly. I was so proud of her! ❤️ During Kokugo (Nihongo subject), though she's good at kanji, she still struggles with constructing sentences. She often gets confused about the correct word order. To be honest, I get confused too sometimes. 😅 English/Tagalog and Japanese follow different sentence patterns, so it's easy to mix them up. That's why I've decided to add sentence-making practice to our study routine. Hopefully, with enough practice, we'll both get better at it.
