Ine Village is definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for a peaceful side of Japan. The famous funaya (boat houses) lining the bay make it feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. Everything moves at a slower pace, and the scenery is beautiful from every angle. One of the highlights of our trip was the sightseeing boat ride. Our kids had so much fun feeding the seagulls—they were flying right beside the boat trying to catch the snacks in midair! It was such a memorable experience and easily became their favorite part of the day. The boat also had a pre-recorded English tour guide, which made it easy to learn about the village’s history and interesting facts while enjoying the cruise. Fun trivia: Ine is home to over 200 traditional funaya, unique boat houses where the ground floor is used as a boat garage and the family lives upstairs. It’s one of the few places in Japan where this centuries-old way of life is still preserved. If you’re in the Kyoto area and want to escape the crowds, Ine Village is a wonderful day trip. It’s a perfect mix of nature, history, and family-friendly fun. Highly recommended! 🌊⛵🕊️ #japantravel #japanadventure #japantrip #japanlife #kyoto
