例年2月上旬から3月上旬にかけて、早咲きで知られる河津桜が町を彩ります。
河津川沿い約4kmにわたって続く桜並木は、鮮やかなピンク色の花と、足元に広がる黄色い菜の花のコントラストが美しく、多くの人を春の世界へと誘います。 祭り期間中は、地元グルメの屋台やライトアップ、露店が立ち並び、昼と夜で異なる表情を楽しめるのも魅力のひとつ。
そんな華やかな風景の中、静かにお経を唱えながら托鉢を行う僧侶の姿がありました。 満開の河津桜、揺れる菜の花、そして祈りの声。
にぎわいと静寂が交差する一瞬は、春の訪れそのもののようでした。 The Izu Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival is held every year in Kawazu Town, Shizuoka Prefecture.
From early February to early March, the town is filled with Kawazu-zakura—early-blooming cherry blossoms known for their vivid pink petals. Along the Kawazu River stretches a cherry blossom path of about 4 kilometers, where bright pink sakura and golden-yellow rapeseed flowers create a breathtaking contrast.
During the festival, food stalls, local specialties, and evening illuminations bring the town to life, offering different atmospheres by day and night. Amid this vibrant celebration, a monk quietly chanting sutras and practicing takuhatsu (alms begging) caught my eye.
