If you go to Asakusa, don’t miss trying the famous melon bread, also called melon pan. What makes it special is that you can choose from different toppings and different fillings, so you can enjoy many variations of melon bread. It’s a must-eat when you’re in Asakusa! If you have time, make sure to visit this bread shop called Asakusa Kagestudo Melon Bread. It’s delicious, by the way! 😋#japantravel #japanfoodie #japanesefood
Last week, I visited Yamanashi Prefecture and enjoyed a relaxing trip full of food, nature, and history. I tried the local specialty Hōtō, a hearty Yamanashi noodle dish that’s perfect for cold weather. At Yamanashi Fruit Park in Fuefuki, I enjoyed strawberry picking, and the strawberries were fresh and sweet 🍓.unli strawberry And there’s a lot of souvenirs to choice.#japantrip #japanfoodie #yamanashi I also explored Kōfu Castle Ruins, and it was very windy that day, but it made the place feel even more dramatic and peaceful 🌬️ You can really feel the history while walking around the castle grounds. Then I strolled through Kōshū Yume Kōji, a charming area with traditional shops and cafes near Kōfu Station. For food, I had juicy burgers at Back Country Burgers, which were so satisfying 🍔 I ended the trip at Yudenkan, a historic ryokan with an onsen — the perfect way to relax and recharge ♨️✨
Speaking of Yamanashi Prefecture, one of its famous local specialties is hōtō. I went there before and had the chance to eat this Yamanashi delicacy. Hōtō is made with thick, flat noodles, not thin ones, and it’s usually cooked with kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) in a rich soup. It wasn’t my first time eating hōtō, but it was my first time trying hōtō with egg. I ordered kabocha hōtō with egg, and the meat used was pork. The combination was really delicious—the thick noodles, sweet pumpkin, soft egg, and flavorful pork worked so well together. The restaurant I went to is open for only a few hours, so timing is important. If you’re visiting Yamanashi, I highly recommend trying hōtō, and if you can, try the version with egg. It’s definitely worth it. #japanesefood #japantravel #yamanashi
Today, I went to Yudenkan Onsen in Chuo City, Yamanashi Prefecture. It was a very windy and cold day—around 0°C—so the contrast between the cold air and the hot water made the experience even better. My overall impression of the onsen is that it’s affordable and well-equipped. There are several baths, including a large and a small bathtub, a hot bath, a bubble bath, and a sauna. There is also an outdoor bath (rotenburo) where you can relax while enjoying the view of the moon. The water outside is hot, but because the air was so cold that day, it felt extra refreshing—and I really liked that feeling. Even though it was Sunday and quite crowded, the onsen was still enjoyable. However, I had a slightly embarrassing experience in the sauna. I used a seat pad, thinking it was shared, but another customer told me it was hers. I felt very shy and immediately apologized. Since then, it reminded me how important it is to observe carefully when using an onsen, especially to avoid causing meiwaku (trouble) to others. It was a learning experience. After the sauna, I soaked in the bath for about 20–30 minutes, then used the foot massage machine for 8 minutes, which cost only 100 yen. That was very relaxing. One thing I always enjoy after an onsen visit is drinking cold milk. It cost 150 yen, served in a glass bottle, which you return afterward. It’s a small thing, but it really completes the onsen experience for me. The onsen also has a manga corner, and I found my favorite manga, Yowamushi Pedal. They had almost the complete set—around 97 volumes. I’ve only read the first volume, but I’ve already watched the anime from Season 1 to Season 3, and I really love the story. Overall, ending my day by going to the onsen was a great choice. If you have the chance, I definitely recommend visiting Yudenkan Onsen. 湯殿館 #温泉 #onsen #japantravel #japantrip #lemon8
