Finally use the paid leave I was too nervous to ask for. Flew to Ehime to see my family, and stayed at @yamatoya_honten_dogo right next to Dōgo Onsen. Taking the paid leave was definitely worth it.❤️😳 #japan #japantrip #explorejapan #japanlife *Filming and getting in the hot spring with towel in the large public bath was conducted with special permission from the facility. Travel used to be everything to me, but lately I've realized it doesn't excite me the same way anymore. Reason 1️⃣: You get used to it. The excitement doesn't last forever. Another cute café, another pretty street, another amazing view... They're all beautiful, but after traveling a lot, it starts to feel familiar. Reason 2️⃣: I care more about who I'm with than where I am. This surprised me the most. I can be looking at the most beautiful view and still think, "I wish my favorite people were here." I used to collect places. Now I care more about the people I share those moments with. Reason 3️⃣: Travel takes more out of me now. Late flights, jet lag, and sleeping in different beds hit me way harder than they used to. I can't recover as quickly anymore, so I value slower, more relaxed trips. Travel didn't change—I did. And honestly, I'm okay with that. These days, I don't travel just to see new places. I travel to spend time with people I love. If I'm missing someone, that's enough of a reason to book a trip. I travel less now, but every trip feels more meaningful. Does anyone else feel this way? 💛🩷
