Living in rural Japan 🌾 🍣 🏔️
For the end of Silver Week my husband and I went to 山下本気うどん in Kanazawa Forus Mall near the station. I got beef curry-carbonara udon and he ordered mentaiko. We also got a side of chicken tempura. You can upgrade the size to a large for ¥0! In total we paid about ¥3,000 for two people. I loved the udon I got! It was super buttery and rich. It satisfied my pregnancy cravings 🤰 The chicken tempura was okay, but I think I would’ve been satisfied without it. You can order in multiple languages on an iPad so it’s really convenient if you don’t speak Japanese. #japanlife #hokuriku #kanazawa
trying @Amazon Japan ‘s 2026 rakuraku baby sample box! For ¥0 you can get a free sample box after making a baby registry on their site. The value of the snacks and wipes are more than the cost of Prime, so not a bad deal at all! #japanlife #notsponsored #pregnantinjapan
Kappa Ramen Hompo is an Osaka chain ramen shop which specializes in tonkotsu ramen and rich, fried garlic. The smell of tonkotsu is not overwhelming, and the noodles are nice and soft. (You can get one free refill of noodles which my husband indulged in). The tiny kappa stamped into the boiled egg is so cute too!! I also recommend getting fried garlic, as that’s one of their specialities. #japanlife #osaka #tiktokgo
A bit of a drive from Toyama station is Coconuts Island, a small beach themed cafe popular for its parfaits. We tried their peach parfait, which uses peaches imported from southern Japan. The overall taste was sweet without being overly rich. I really liked the vanilla icecream wrapped in a crunchy peach sorbet. I’d love to go back and try some of their savory dishes and drinks as well! #japanlife #toyama #inmycity
Part two of the Godiva x Nana collab released today 🍰 I’ve finally collected all of the stickers! I almost got the collaboration tumbler but it was ¥4,400 Definitely one of the better food/IP collabs I’ve had in a long time! #notsponsored #japanlife #Nana
Last night I tried both the Hachi and Nana flavor from the Nana x Godiva collab! Hachi’s was milk chocolate and strawberry, while Nana’s was dark chocolate and cherry. Both of them had a more adult taste, but I preferred the Nana one as it was less sweet. Also, don’t throw away the drink sleeves! The sleeves have stickers on them so be sure to keep them. 🍓🪷🚬 #JapanLife #Nana #秋旅先取りキャンペーン
I already shared on here that we’re expecting our first child, but I was really excited about how the announcement photos came out so I wanted to share here too! #japanlife #pregnantinjapan #TikTokGO公式表彰プログラム
🌷It’s the summer phase of tulip care! I’m a little nervous, because it’s my first time harvesting bulbs. It looks like one of them is maybe unhealthy (types or advice welcome!) Now to wait for them to dry and I can trim the stems and roots. #patiogarden #japanesecountryside #asmrsounds #CapCut
Ever heard of Matsusaka beef? Many people know Kobe beef, or simply “wagyu.” Matsusaka beef is a fatty cow, specifically black heifers which are raised in Matsusaka in Mie prefecture. We tried a popular Matsusaka restaurant over the weekend. I ordered the beef bowl and my husband got the demiglace hamburg steak. Highlights for me were definitely the beef. Cooked medium rare, it was so soft and juicy! The rice also has a sweetness to it, and completely different from Toyama rice. The beef miso on the tamagomaki was a nice surprise. All of the vegetables seemed quite fresh and local. Because Matsusaka beef is premium, be prepared to spend money. Our meal was ¥6,000, which is on the lower side for two people. Single steaks can range from ¥10,000-¥40,000+ depending on the cut of meat. Overall a very worthwhile experience if you’re in Mie. #mieprefecture #GOで素敵な旅キャンペーン #三重県 #matsusakagyu
In a tradition dating back over 2,000 years, Ama women free dive with zero scuba equipment of depths up to 6 meters (~20 feet). They train from pre-teens, and there are cases where women dive until their 70s or even 90s! Historically they caught seafood, but in modern history they also collect pearl oysters. You can hear an Ama diver whistling in this video. Whistling helps protect their heart and lungs from damage. Very impressed to see these women preserving a rich and long cultural practice. #三重県 #mieprefecture #GOで素敵な旅キャンペーン
