My all time favourite tropical island in Japan - iriomote island !! ｡ꕤ˚₊⊹ Ever since my last visit at Iriomote in 2018, I always longed to come back as I completely fell in love with it :,) ꕤ Let me tell you about her! Iriomote Island is actually a UNESCO world heritage site and has the most surreal subtropical nature and wildlife, where 90% of the island is covered by dense jungles and mangrove forests! If you get really lucky, you can spot the Iriomote cat which only exists here and is so critically endangered that there’s only less than 100 left in the entire world.🥺 There’s also the rare sagaribana which only blooms at night and falls down by sunrise- this unique phenomenon creates flower carpets on the rivers in the mangrove forests and look out of this world beautiful :,) Iriomote also have some of the most beautiful beaches and a lot of them are secluded and can only be reached by boat, certified tours or hikes which leaves the nature well protected and often end up being just a few people on the entire beach🧡 ꕤ Even though my few days stay at Iriomote turned into a 24h trip because of the super typhoon, I still had the most incredible experience at the wonderful Iriomote Hotel by Hoshino Resorts!🥹 So genuinely thankful for the most amazing team at the resort.🧡 ꕤ What made me genuinely love this resort is that it aims to be become Japan’s first ecotourism resort in order to protect Iriomote’s environment and create a sustainable tourism system! For ex., in aims to reduce plastic waste, at this resort you can’t find any plastic bottles in any of the vending machines or gift shop and encourages their guests to use reusable bottles during the stay! :) ꕤ They also offer free complimentary tours and talks as they strongly believe that their guests should be informed and taught about the nature and wildlife of Iriomote in order to protect and preserve it🥹 ꕤ All the tours I did were kindly provided by Hoshino Resorts and can be booked through them! Kayaking at 4:30 AM in the middle of a mangrove forest in Japan will forever be one of my favourite core memories💛 I visited Iriomote island for the first time in 2018 and I fell in love with it and had become my favorite island in Japan🥹 I saw just a few sagaribana in bloom that time and didn’t get the full experience, so when I went to Iriomote island in July this year, it was on the top of my list to see! No words can truly describe just how amazing and beautiful the experience and the flowers were😭 I genuinely can’t recommend going to Iriomote island enough and if you want to see a bit more, I have a mini vlog uploaded on my page💛🫂 I hope this inspired some of you to go as this island but also its people, the nature and its local businesses deserves all the love and support!!💖 ♡Disclosure! So clean that Koi fishes live there :,) This town is called “The town where Koi swims” / 鯉の泳ぐまち in Shimabara, Nagasaki prefecture, and is known for its fresh spring water from Mt.
