Introducing the new Kurono Special Projects 37mm INSEKI ‘隕石’, a personal study by Hajime Asaoka as he brings meteorite into the Kurono Tokyo design language. Drawn to the contrast between meteorite’s rugged texture and Kurono’s softly contoured case, Hajime developed a refined bull’s-eye dial that preserves the brand’s signature cylindrical aesthetic, with meteorite at its center and a gently curved surrounding area. Each dial is crafted from Muonionalusta meteorite. When cut and etched, its crystalline structure reveals natural patterns, making every dial unique. To ensure visual strength, Hajime Asaoka personally inspected every single dial and selected only those with compelling character, adding his personal seal as proof of that selection. Gray meteorite is complemented by a white lacquered ring featuring Hajime Asaoka’s personally designed Calligra typeface painted in high relief, finished with hand-bent, high-polished steel hands. A look back at Kurono Tokyo's since sold out calendar complication timepieces. The Calendrier 'Type I' was designed by Hajime Asaoka for the gentleman adventurer. Its khaki dial and coin-edged bezel frame a triple calendar complication. The model was nominated in the Challenge category of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) 2022. It was followed by the 2023 Anniversary Calendrier 'AZUKI' : アズキ, the final Type I edition, its deep maroon dial inspired by the color of vintage Japanese cars. Most recently came the Kurono Grand Jubilee Calendar, launched for his 60th Diamond Jubilee, with a redesigned date window set within a guilloché recess, finished with an onyx cabochon crown. As the stone is naturally prone to fracturing, only 2 out of 10 dials survive the process and make it to final selection by Hajime Asaoka himself. The Réserve de Marche 'Sensu NOS' launched in Blue and Cream, its guilloché dial shaped around Hajime Asaoka's interpretation of a folding Japanese fan (扇子 : sensu), an image that defines the series. It was followed by the 2025 Jubilee Sensu EOL '白藍', nominated for the GPHG Challenge category, with a chrysanthemum-wave guilloché in shiraai (白藍) — pale shade of indigo — and with an end-of-life movement, personally modified by sensei to preserve the integrity of the dial. Please note that the Expression of Interest (Ballot) for the Kurono Diver’s: ダイバーズ has been closed at 11:59PM JST on 11 March 2026. Expressions of interest may be submitted until 11:59PM JST on 11 March 2026. Following the close of the EOI period, we will review all applications and allocate pieces via ballot. Successful applicants will receive an invoice by email between 13–16 March. Please monitor your inbox during this period, as selected applicants will have 48 hours from the time the invoice is issued to complete payment. Delayed responses beyond the stated timeframe may result in the allocation being released and reassigned. If you do not receive an invoice by 16 March, your application was not successful in this round. We accept the following payment methods: VISA, Mastercard, American Express (AMEX), Apple Pay, and Android/Google Pay. You may also opt for $900/mo. installments for 3 months without interest or fees. Any applicable taxes and duties will depend on your destination and will be assessed and invoiced by the carrier upon arrival.
