Get $5 off your first box when you use my code MIZHELLE. Link is in my bio, or comment MOON and I’ll send you the link. 🌕 A little clarification about the story: the tale I shared didn’t originate in Japan. It comes from an ancient Indian Buddhist parable found in the Jataka tales and was later retold in Japan’s Konjaku Monogatarishū. Japan, however, has developed a rich culture around tsukimi, or autumn moon viewing, with traditions centered on admiring the moon and giving thanks for the harvest. These days, “tsukimi” is also heavily used for seasonal marketing. Restaurants and convenience stores release limited-time tsukimi dishes, often by simply adding an egg, with its round yolk representing the moon. That’s why I love Sakuraco’s interpretation. Instead of centering the theme on an egg, the box draws from Tsuki no Usagi (the rabbit on the moon) turning the motif into adorable snacks and homeware. Thank you to Sakuraco for sponsoring this video. #PR #snackbox #sakuraco #tsukimi #moonviewing

If your answer to “Wagyu or crab?” is both, this one’s for you. 🥩🦀 I recently got to try Wagyu to Kani, a new all-you-can-eat restaurant in Asakusa serving Satsuma Nishiki Wagyu alongside both snow crab and king crab. We had everything sukiyaki-style, and between the beautifully marbled Wagyu and those enormous pieces of crab, this is definitely a meal you need to come hungry for. The staff were also incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal, which made the experience even better. Wagyu to Kani is already popular in the Kansai region, where most of its customers are Japanese locals, and now you can try it right here in Tokyo! 📍 Wagyu to Kani Asakusa @wagyucrab_asakusa 2F Ogusa Building 2-11-5 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo 🥩 Course featured: All-you-can-eat Satsuma Nishiki special loin & king crab course ¥18,000 Includes Satsuma Nishiki Wagyu special selection loin and belly, snow crab, king crab, and more. #PR #asakusa #wagyu # crab #sukiyaki

@sakuramobilejp The one thing you don’t want to be in Japan is offline. You’ll need internet for everything from navigating the streets to translating what you want to say, which is why I recommend getting your eSIM sorted before you land. Sakura Mobile is a local Japanese provider, so unlike many global eSIMs that rely on international roaming, you’re connecting through a Japanese network. I tested it for 30 days while traveling around Japan and personally never had a problem with my connection. And if you need a Japanese phone number for calls and SMS, they have a separate Voice + Data eSIM too. One less thing to worry about on your Japan trip! 🇯🇵 #PR #JapanTravel #JapanTravelTips #JapanESIM

PGC Clinic Shinjuku @pgc_clinic_official 11 AM to 8 PM 6-minute walk from Shinjuku Station Pico Toning - ¥8,900 Fraxel - ¥14,900 Growing up in the Philippines, I always had the impression that beauty was something you either had or you didn’t, and that caring too much about how you looked could easily be dismissed as vanity. But the older I get, the more differently I see it. After living in Japan for the past 14 years, and now getting very close to 40, I’ve come to think that looking good is often less about being naturally “beautiful” and more about how well you take care of yourself. Good skin, good health, feeling comfortable in your body, these things often take effort. And for me, skin treatments have become another form of self-care rather than something I see as vanity. Until now, most of the treatments I’ve done for pigmentation and skin renewal have been chemical peels, so this was my first time trying Pico Toning and Fraxel at PGC Clinic in Shinjuku. I regularly visit skin clinics, and I have to say, PGC might be the prettiest one I’ve been to so far. I also really appreciated that my consultation was conducted entirely in English, so I could properly explain my concerns and understand exactly what each treatment was supposed to do. Two weeks later, I can already see why Pico Toning and Fraxel are often used together. My skin looks brighter and more hydrated, and some of my pigmentation is less noticeable. I’m already thinking I might add these to my regular skin-maintenance routine, and now I’m curious about what else I should try next. What skin concerns are you currently trying to work on, and what treatments have you been curious about? #PR #pgcclinic #jbeauty #kbeauty #hyperpigmentation

I never thought I’d voluntarily sign up to have dozens of tiny needles placed on my face… yet here we are. 😂 I was really surprised ag how my my jawline looked more snatched and my cheekbones more prominent immediately afterward but you’ll have to do this regularly for longer-lasting results. I was just in Fukuoka, and somehow I completely missed Kama City. Now I kind of wish I hadn’t. It’s one of those places that sounds like it would be right up my alley: lots of nature, outdoor experiences like shower climbing, and local performances inspired by the area’s stories and history. So yes, this one is definitely going on the “next time” list. In the meantime, if you’re in Tokyo, you can still get a little taste of Fukuoka at Kojimachi NADAMAN Fukuoka Bettei. I got to try dishes and ingredients from the region, including Kama Hisui, a rare green soybean grown in Kama. And if you’re curious to try it for yourself, there’s also a limited offer: 🎁 Special Offer for Those Who Saw This Post! Enjoy a meal at Kojimachi NADAMAN Fukuoka Bettei and receive Yame Tea Bags (2 bags) 📅 From Sep 3 – while supplies last At checkout, please say: “I saw the post about the Yame tea event.” 📍 Pick-up Location: Kojimachi NADAMAN Fukuoka Bettei Link: https://www.fukuoka-bimi.com/eng/ ※Please check the last image in this post for details. @fukuoka_yokayoka.tokyo #PR #fukuoka #kamacity #retreat

I’ve basically been living out of a suitcase for the past month, and one thing I’ve been really thankful for is the LuLuLun Hydra EX Mask. I love how it keeps my skin feeling fresh and moisturized, especially because the last thing I want is to look as tired as I actually am when I’m filming after a long travel day. It’s also such an easy thing to travel with. And even if I don’t pack it, I can just pick it up at Don Quijote once I arrive at my destination. You get 7 sheets for under ¥1,000, so it’s budget-friendly too. Definitely one I’d add to your Japan shopping list if you want to keep your travel skincare simple without skipping the self-care. @lululun_jp #LuLuLun #JapanTravel #JapaneseSkincare #DonQuijote #PR

Most hotels put everything under one roof. @SEKAI HOTEL Osaka in Fuse, Osaka, did the opposite. This shopping arcade used to have nearly 780 shops. Over the decades, competition from department stores, changing shopping habits, and aging shopkeepers brought that down to around 400, and a lot of shutters stayed closed. Instead of building something new for tourists, SEKAI HOTEL turned empty storefronts into guest rooms and checked visitors into the neighborhood itself: a reception inside a former clothing shop, rooms in buildings among local businesses, and a pass for discounts, breakfast at nearby cafés, and access to a public bath. It’s a hotel model built specifically to help keep a shrinking shotengai alive, one guest at a time. Whether that actually works, and what the people who live and work here think of it, is what the next three nights were for. Follow for the next episode in this series. #sponsored #osaka #japantrip #mindfultourism #slowtravel

I kept thinking I could stretch myself just a little bit further. One more deadline. One more project. One more late night. Between the demands of my day job and pursuing content creation, I’d gotten so used to being busy that I stopped noticing how exhausted I was. I knew I needed rest, but I kept treating my capacity like something I could endlessly extend. Then I spent three days in Jeollanam-do. We watched sunsets. Walked through forests. Sat down for long meals and conversations. And for once, I wasn’t thinking about how much I could fit into the next hour. It reminded me that rest isn’t something you earn only after you’ve completely exhausted yourself. And I don’t think the answer is to escape to the countryside every time life becomes overwhelming either. The harder part is learning how to make space for that slowness in everyday life, before you reach the point where your body is practically demanding it. I’m still figuring out what that looks like for me. But if you’re someone who keeps testing how much more you can carry, maybe you don’t need to find out where your limit is. Give yourself some room to breathe before you run out of it. #NamdoTravel #NamdoSunset #VisitNamdo #koreatravel

Somebody tell me why only 0.6% of tourists visit Jeollanam-do when they’ve got mesmerizing sunsets, amazing food (Korea’s best as some would say), and healing practices that soothe the soul? And this is only Hampyeong! Still to come: Muan & Naju. PLACES VISITED:
📍Hampyeong, South Jeolla Okdang Gisa Sikdang - buffet restaurany
Dolmare690 - seaside cafe
Dolmeori Seawater Steam Healing Center - saltwater spa
Yunseul Hanok (@yoonseul_45 ) - accommodation

Why are anime songs popular? What makes J-POP different from K-POP? The perspective of a professional in the Japanese music industry is completely different from mine, which is what makes this such a memorable conversation for me. #jpop #music #animesong #kpop

I don't hate Osaka. I just never connected with it. Even in a YouTube video I made years ago, I said the same thing: it never really stuck with me as a place I connect with. Not disliked, just never left a mark. So when I learned about SEKAI HOTEL and the concept they've built — a hotel that lives inside a real, working neighborhood instead of apart from it — I wanted to see it for myself. Can a hotel actually become part of a community, not just sit in one? This is episode one of "A Town Called Fuse." Curiosity piqued? You can go look it up ahead of the series. Here’s where you can find info: SEKAI HOTEL Fuse

Earlier this year, opportunities started pouring in. And instead of feeling excited, there was a part of me quietly saying, “Oh, maybe they just couldn’t find anyone else for this.” “Maybe it was a last-minute choice.” I felt like I wasn’t good enough for any of it. Honestly, sometimes I still do. That’s when I realized this wasn’t just a work thing — it showed up in relationships too. I’d been operating from a default place of apology, as if I’m still saying sorry for existing. I’m still working on breaking this pattern, but I think acknowledging it exists is probably the first step. #startingover #HealingJourney #mojiko #mojikoretro #fukuoka

When people talk about “local travel,” it often sounds like the goal is simply to find places tourists haven’t discovered yet. But in Fuse, I started wondering about something else: can visitors become part of a neighborhood’s everyday rhythm without asking that neighborhood to change for them? #osaka #sekaihotel #higashiosaka #mindfultravel #japantravel

I love trying something new, and this time it was making ramen from scratch! Everything at Ramen Dojo Tokyo was organized and easy to follow, from making the noodles and preparing the chicken char siu to assembling our own bowls. And the best part? By the end of the class, I got to eat three different types of ramen: tonkotsu, shoyu, and miso. Come hungry! 🍜 📍 Ramen Dojo Tokyo @ramendojo_japan Address: 2-16-29 Ohashi, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 153-0044, 1F 🚃 Access: 6-min walk from Ikejiri-Ohashi Station ⏰ Duration: 90 minutes 💴 Price: ¥15,000 per adult 🍜 Make & taste: Tonkotsu, Shoyu & Miso ramen #ramen #pr #tokyo #cookingclass #makeyourown

While I’ve known that work in Japan is concentrated in Tokyo, I had no idea that major cities like Osaka also have businesses that are experiencing decline as a result. But what makes me fascinated with this recording studio is that they found an innovative way to pivot: an anime song recording experience, open to both local residents and inbound tourists. I think it’s brilliant that they used what they already had — a real studio, real engineering skill — and pointed it at an audience with unmet wants and unrealized dreams. While I was there, though, I told him their lineup doesn’t have to stop at anime songs either. J-pop as a whole is loved worldwide, and city pop especially has been having a moment. My one personal request? Add some L’Arc songs to the mix. PS. I’m labeling this PR because the experience was a gifted collaboration. But this conversation happened because I was genuinely curious, and because I wanted to share a story I found worth telling. Part 2 is coming soon 👀 #osaka #animesong #jpop #pr #japantrip

There’s a newly opened sushi restaurant in Ginza where you can have dinner surrounded by an aquarium. 🐠 The ¥11,000 course includes everything from sushi and tempura to abalone, sea urchin, caviar, and wagyu, so there’s actually quite a lot to try throughout the meal. Definitely an interesting option if you want something a little different from the usual sushi dinner in Tokyo. 📍 水の都 AQUARIUM Sushi Ginza Address: B1, Ginza Dai-5 Taiyo Building, 7-10-8 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0061 Price: ¥11,000 course Includes: • Sushi and nigiri • Sea urchin • Abalone • Caviar • Tempura • Japanese wagyu teppanyaki • Wagyu sukiyaki roll • Red miso soup • Seasonal dessert • One complimentary soft drink ※ Menu items may change depending on ingredient availability. #sponsored #TokyoSushi #GinzaSushi #tokyoaquarium

I get really excited when I find something that can make your trip to Japan a little more comfortable, which is why I’m happy to feature one of Tranova’s rooms in Sangenjaya. I had such a comfortable stay here and loved having more space to settle in, plus conveniences like a kitchen and washing machine that are especially useful for longer stays in Tokyo. And while you’re close to Shibuya, you also get to experience a quieter, more local side of the city. 👉 You get the best price when you book directly through their website.
