To be honest, I don’t really remember what I ate in the U.S.! Well, I do remember how the food looked and tasted, but I couldn’t tell you the exact names or the specific seasonings. That’s because many of the flavors were unfamiliar in Japan, and there were so many dishes with names I had never seen before. So it was impossible for me to remember them all. For me, trying to imagine what a dish is like just by reading an English menu is extremely difficult. Whenever I looked at a menu in the U.S., I would think, “What in the world is this…?” In the end, I always had the followers I met in the U.S. choose my meals for me, so I was constantly nervous about what would actually arrive! Most of the time, the food I ate contained tomatoes — which I wasn’t good with. But since I ate every single tomato that came with my meals in the U.S., I’ve actually been able to eat a little tomato even after returning to Japan! #usa #japanese #ustrip

My reaction as a Japanese person when I went to McDonald’s in the U.S. for the first time! Ever since I was a child, I had been told that McDonald’s in the U.S. was on a completely different scale. People said the hamburgers were more than twice the size of Japan’s, and that the drinks were unbelievably huge. So for me, visiting McDonald’s in America was basically one of the highlights of my trip. I ordered a Big Mac, and based on everything I’d heard, I imagined that if Japan’s Big Mac is called a “Big Mac,” then the American version should be called a “Super Big Mac” because of how massive it must be! But when the burger came out… it was exactly the same size as the one in Japan. I was so surprised that I couldn’t help but laugh!
