if I had a dollar every time my tourist friend asked me, “why does everyone in tokyo look so depressed?”, I would have $2, but it’s odd that it happened more than once. personally I love living here, but of course there are ups and downs, like being so busy with everything that you have to reserve months before hanging out with your friends lol and as someone currently in an in-between phase, I sometimes forget to take a deep breathe, slow down and trust the process. trust that everything will be fine. living in tokyo, reminding yourself to wind down is so important 💆🏻‍♀️ never forget that, besties!! #lifeinjapan #studyabroadjapan

travelling to okinawa, i learned that okinawa has its own language called うちなーぐち (uchinaaguchi) ⋆｡𖦹 ˚ 𓇼 ˚｡⋆ here are some okinawan words i learned & some differences i noticed from standard japanese 🏝️ i only went to the tourist spots so i didn’t really hear anyone speaking in okinawan except めんそーれ, but hopefully next time 🥹✨ #沖縄

culture shocks i’ve had in japan as an indonesian who moved here in 2022 （╹◡╹） this is just my experience, feel free to share yours~ 1. children roaming around freely (the safety in japan is amazing 🥹✨) 2. good quality glasses are less expensive than indonesia 3. meat to rice ratio 🍚 i usually order less rice if there’s an option, but if there isn’t i usually finish the meat so fast lol #lifeinjapan #internationalstudent
