🏫Is the majority always right?🏫※English title People may take different things away from this video. What I want to talk about is this: In Japanese schools, decisions are sometimes made by majority vote. The opinion with more votes gets accepted, and the opinion with fewer votes often doesn’t. Sometimes, it’s not even really heard. Of course, once you enter society, there are situations where decisions have to be made by majority vote. So I’m not saying that majority voting itself is always bad. But in schools — places where children are supposed to gain different experiences and learn how to think — I honestly feel uncomfortable with teaching the idea that “if there are more people, it must be right.” Listening to each other’s thoughts and opinions, and then asking, “How can we find an answer that we can all accept?” I believe that kind of thinking is incredibly important during childhood. And this isn’t just about voting. Doing something just because “everyone else is doing it” often leads to regret. If adults kept asking children questions like, “What do you want?” “How do you want to live?” I think this country would become a much easier place to live. I felt this strongly during the time I was involved in schools and sports environments. I don’t want to just say things that sound good or act like I know better. I want to keep expressing these thoughts in the ways that I can. Hey you! You watching this video and to all the children out there!! Listening to the people around you is important. But in the end, make your decisions based on your own feelings and your own will. Never silence the voice inside your heart.
