🇯🇵 僕がこの動画で伝えたいこと。 特攻の話や戦争の話、政治の話などをすると 最近は「スピってる」という言葉で片付けられてしまう風潮がある。 ちなみに僕はこの言葉が大嫌い。 間違いなく、現代を生きる僕たちが生きることができているのは 先人の方々のお陰で、彼ら彼女らの行い無くして今の僕たちはないです。 じゃあその”今”を紡いでもらった僕たちにできることは、この ”今、身近にあるモノやコト” を少しでもより良いものにして 未来の人たちへ継承していくことじゃないのかな。 そのために、歴史を勉強して、過去の出来事を目の当たりにして、涙して。 そして、それを人々に伝えて、、、それの何がスピってるんだ。 そんな風刺を各シーンで描いています。 ホタルが僕に見せてくれたものは、このホタルたちが当時 何かを守るためだけに戦った最後の瞬間です。 美化するつもりはありません。正しい選択だったとも思いません。 でも無駄なことでは決してなく、意味あるものだったと心からそう感じています。 では何を守るために飛び立って行ったのか… 彼ら彼女らが何よりも想いを寄せていたのはきっと 大切な家族のこと、友達のこと、恋人のことだったと思うんです。 そして、自分の国を未来に残したいという想い。 それらのことを想像すると、言葉では表現することが難しい感情になります。 だけど、それらは今を生きる僕たちの日常の中にあります。 『この当たり前の幸せを噛み締めて、そして守りながらもより良いものにして、生きてね』 と言われている気がするのです。 年に一度の終戦祈念日。年に一度の出来事として終わらせるのではなくて 日々、毎日、これらのことを忘れないように お互いに命一杯努力して生きていこう。 2026.8.15 カモンゴウシ 『蛍』― 1人の特攻隊員さんが出撃前夜、「特攻の母」と言われたトメさんというお母さんに、「明日の夜、ホタルになって帰ってくる」と言って、本当に次の日の夜にホタルとなって帰ってこられたというお話があります。 **What I Want to Convey Through This Video** These days, whenever someone talks about the kamikaze pilots, war, or politics, people are quick to dismiss them as “being too spiritual.” By the way, I absolutely hate that expression. There is no doubt that we are able to live today because of those who came before us. Without their actions and sacrifices, the present we know would not exist. So what can we—the people who inherited this “present”—do?.... I believe our responsibility is to make the things and circumstances around us, even if only slightly, better than they are now, and then pass them on to future generations. To do that, we study history. We face what happened in the past. We shed tears. And then we share those stories with others. What exactly is “too spiritual” about that? This is the message I have expressed through the satirical scenes in this video. Through the fireflies, we glimpse the final moments of those who fought to protect something precious to them. I have no intention of glorifying what happened. Nor do I believe it was the right choice. But I genuinely feel that their lives were not meaningless—and that what they did carried meaning. So, what were they trying to protect when they took off on their final missions? More than anything, I believe their hearts were with their beloved families, friends, and partners. They also carried the hope that their country would continue to exist for future generations. When I imagine those feelings, I am overcome by emotions that are difficult to put into words. Yet everything they longed to protect still exists within our everyday lives today. It feels as though they are telling us: “Cherish the ordinary happiness you have. Protect it, make it better, and keep living.” August 15 is Japan’s annual day of remembrance for the end of the war. But let us not treat remembrance as something that matters only once a year.
