Ahead of its 40th anniversary next year, Aesop has released a new Eau de Parfum and is holding this event at the Hyokeikan so visitors can experience the fragrance up close. The biggest draw is the huge moon installation, around 7 meters wide, near Shimokitazawa Station’s East Exit. The rooftop art at Higashi Kitazawa Station is a paid experience in an area normally closed to the public. I left it out of the video on purpose, but it is worth checking out. Art and the city come together in a way that feels uniquely Shimokita, and the event has firmly taken root. Now, more mega drink cafés are opening in Japan. Affordable drinks in generous sizes are a big win, but THE LITER chose Gotanda for its first location. The area feels a little more low-key and local, so maybe they’re aiming for repeat customers. The full 1-liter drinks available in Korea are here too, so if this location is easier for you to reach than Mammoth Coffee or Paik’s Dabang, it may be worth checking out.
