What happened in Ikebukuro is a reminder of something we don’t talk about enough… Stalking is not “just annoying.” It escalates. And sometimes, it turns into something much more serious. A lot of people do go to the police. But without clear evidence or repeated reports, it can feel like nothing happens right away. That’s why documentation matters. If you feel like you’re being stalked: • Take screenshots • Save call logs • Write down dates, times, locations • Keep reporting—even if it feels like nothing is changing A record matters. A pattern matters. And please… don’t go through it alone. Tell someone you trust. Japan is an amazing place to live, but this is something we need to take seriously. Three interviews this morning. Two in person, one by phone… and honestly I left feeling a little defeated. Job searching in Japan can be really tough. Even when you speak the language and have experience, sometimes it still feels like you’re trying to fit into boxes that weren’t really made for you. So for now… I’m sitting in my car eating a 7-Eleven chocolate chip cookie and giving myself a moment. Some days are wins. Some days are just cookies.
