The street is full of potteries and deep in history. Clay pipes, ceramic walls, and handmade touches are everywhere. Don’t miss Tokonyan, the giant Maneki-Neko head peeking over a wall 😻Tokoname is also famous for Maneki-Neko and it’s the top producer in Japan! That’s why you can see many cat pottery works here! Chita City Okada, a little town that still remains the charm of the Edo period. This time, I joined a local tour where you get to peek inside a craft beer brewery and enjoy a wholesome lunch afterward! You will be able to see many traditional Japanese buildings with over 400 years of history while walking through the street here. Some Japanese craftsmen also run some cozy little shops here! I visited OKD KOMINKA BREWING. This is a beer brewery that’s built inside a renovated 100-year-old rice cracker factory. The owner hopes with a passion for brewing delicious beer and bringing joy to others. Right after the brewery tour, we headed next door to SON Dinning, a beautiful café that offers beer tastings along with a healthy, seasonal lunch. I love the interior and exterior of this cafe so much! It is built from a Kominka (traditional Japanese building) and they hope to bring people together and breathe life into the town here! This is one of the most spiritual mountains I’ve ever been in Japan. You can immediately feel the power once you step into the mountain. It also feels like stepping into a world of Princess Mononoke. I hike up 1,425 stairs to reach the top of Horaiji Temple. It is a mountain and temple that’s over 1,300 years of history. It is also listed as a National Important Cultural Property. You will walk through lush and mossy forest with trees over 400 years old, and pass by different sacred temples, and statues while hiking up. This place is also full of maple leaves that during autumn many trees will turn into beautiful colors! After reaching the top, our guide prepared bento for us and it was the best bento I’ve ever had! Even though it was raining, the atmosphere felt even better, and I truly fell in love with this spiritual cultural heritage! The tour I joined!
